The current situation (IC).
Here's the IC situation and timeline through the middle of July, 2004:
* July 4th: Attacks on Trimaris and Snelling.
* July 5th-7th: Small attacks continue, largely on the coastline, although they can occur along any body of water. The Cutlass is holding harbour patrols on the Sea-Cross side for most of this time.
* July 7th: Death of Paul Atwater.
* July 8th-14th: The Undersea changes tactics, and -- rather than making full frontal assaults -- begins ambushing small groups when they move around the water. Passage into and out of both major Freeholds becomes highly dangerous.
* July 15th: Formal declaration of war made by Duke Manuel Alvarez ap Gwydion of Eildon, who promises to send troops to Candlemarch to bolster Marquessa Crawford's position.
Please feel free to LJ post about and around these events, and comment here if you have any questions or need to discuss anything. Current Mood: mellow

Teatime II, the Undersea War, the State of the Union, and you.
Hey, everybody. Polychrome here.
First off, let me make one thing perfectly clear: this is not
an announcement of the game reopening, and I apologize if this got your hopes up. It is, however, the beginning of us trying to feel out the shape of the game, and fill in the time between going to soft RP (November 6th, 2004) and the present day. If all goes well, this will allow us to all be on the same page, with no loss of continuity, when reopening becomes an option.
In-game, the bodies of the two cephali guards who had accompanied the Undersea deligation were found on the morning of July 4th, 2004 (OOC 11/7/04), along with the bodies of their five attackers -- two redcaps, a troll, and two sluagh, none of them immediately familiar. The survivors were understandably furious, and departed immediately, despite heroic attempts at diplomacy by the Court of Candlemarch.
The first attack on Trimaris occurred, in-game, at approximately nine o'clock that night, under cover of full darkness. Most of the city's forces went to the aid of the castle and its inhabitants, which prevented all but minor damage, but left the harbour -- and the entrance to Fort Snelling -- entirely unguarded against the raid that came at midnight. Assume light NPC casualties on all sides.
The next eleven days/RL week (July 15th/November 14th) saw multiple small attacks and brawls, as the Undersea fae establish directly the strength of the opposition on the land, and attempt to create a culture of fear. No major damage is done to any Freeholds or landmarks during this time. If your PC would have taken/be taking some sort of specific steps towards bolstering their position, please comment on this entry, and we can sort things out; please only actions taken during the first eleven days.
If you will not be returning to the game in the event of reopening, or will not be returning as a specific PC, please let us know; we're happy to kill people off ICly during the early stages of the war. We'll also be setting things up for new PCs to be introduced, once we're more certain of the shape of things -- this is just the beginning of hammering things out, and will eventually, hopefully, lead to a full IC timeline.
If you maintain a PC journal, please feel free to update ICly through the events of July 4th (attack on Trimaris/Snelling); as other things become IC absolutes, we'll confirm them here. ritm
is updating, with all entries backdated to reflect the OOC dates corresponding with the IC events.
Thanks for your patience, everyone, and for any help you can give in getting the gaps between then and now firmly filled in before we move forward.

Hey folks. As of tomorrow morning, we'll be moving the game over to a new
server at Mushpark all in the name of better stability and support. DNS should
change pretty quickly, but if you have problems getting there, the new IP
address will be: 188.8.131.52 6668. Hopefully all goes well, and we'll see
you all on the new machine tomorrow as if nothing happened.

I'm going to be playing a RedCap Royal-Navy Captain named Caroline. I have a Snow
named The Pistrix
, and she has 8 guns; the duty of said vessel is to patrol the waterways outside Candlemarch for the Marquessa Penelope Crawford, as played by one closer2myself
. I'm looking for someone inclined to play my First Mate or other officer type. We will hate pirates with a passion unseen in the world to date (this means you, vaspider
!) and keep the seas clear of villanous beast and scurvy privateer alike. Discipline is the key! You will need to have Retinue 5 so as to help me out with crew, but otherwise, make whatever you like.
Lemme know by email or @mail if you're inclined to join in. :)

IC Samhain is coming up quickly, and has OOCly been declared to extend from noon on Wednesday, May 26th, through midnight, May 28th. This keeps the holiday from overlapping with the holiday weekend, and gives everyone a chance to play.
During the holiday, all public spaces will be considered Samhain, but private spaces can be declared pre- or post-Samhain, if you need some non-holiday RP. Please do not attempt to declare public spaces non-Samhain.
If you need information on how we handle the Samhain Mists, please log on and read 'news samhain' (or scroll far enough back in this journal).
We hope to see you there! Current Mood: excited

NEWS! OPENING WEEK!
Four years ago, Twin Cities by Teatime the original game closed.
On the four year anniversary of that closing, I am happy to announce our full opening to be held over the first full week in April. Rather than an official opening day, in order to let both staff and players get their applications and other things in order, we are terming the first full week in April our Opening Week. While there remain many things we still need to fully implement and improve, we finally feel ready to move into full open, staff-and-player-response-times, and gearing up fully into the story that is Teatime Two. We will be accepting soft-RP +reccs until the end of Opening Week on April 11th.
We have a lot of fun things planned for this month, with tinyplots already ongoing and a number of events prepped to happen as soon as we open, including Knightfall, the IC fan-convention for our supplemental fictional TV series "Electric Knights". We also still welcome applications, new players being brought in, and returning players to apply here; there remain a wide variety of characters we would love to see here.
While we will still not be advertising widely, feel free to encourage your friends to check us out. This remains a place we would like you to feel welcome and at home, and able to talk with your wizards and staff, as well as your fellow players, at any time; our game philosophy is quite specifically a cooperative one.
Questions about specifics may be directed to your !-DARK wizstaff at any time. We will be requiring approval to RP on-grid by the end of Opening Week. Staff response times will be adopted, likewise, by the end of that week. (Hey, you guys get a grace period for app-finishing, we'd like one for answering-niggling-questions.)
Thank you for playing here! As always, we are glad to have the players we have, and hope you'll keep participating in the future.

Yes! Our fictional fandom features a ficathon! (Try saying that five times fast.) While it's considered IC on the game, and is being started by a PC, OOC entrants are welcome -- after all, the PC starting it is known somewhat in the fandom nationwide, and so those who would OOCly like to write the fanfic while not having reason to IC are welcome to sign up and write anyway.
Our website at www.teatimetwo.com has all episode summaries and transcripts to date for the first (virtual) season, with more being added all the time.
To sign up for the ficathon, scout hopeless_lady
's livejournal and follow the directions there. Have fun!

Nifty web stuff!
The beginnings of the webpage are up!
What does this mean to you? Well, for one thing, it means that all available EK episodes
are now online at one place, along with a convenient episode guide for season one! Now you, too, can see the secrets of the entire season, and read several episodes you've never seen before
We'll be releasing episodes #19, #20 and #21 in the next week, and will also be posting an Electric Knights FAQ with the answers to all those questions you may not have asked yet (but your characters almost certainly will have). Be sure to check in regularly.
Go forth, read and enjoy! Current Mood: pleased
